Schuttörf

The city of Schüttorf has owned city rights since 1295, making it the oldest city in the county of Bentheim. The history of the city becomes visible in almost every corner. Many buildings are under monument care. You can pay a visit to 'the giant of Schüttorf', the 81 m high tower of the Protestant church built between 1502 and 1535, the late Gothic town hall of Bentheimer sandstone or the old city wall from around 1300.
